Marshall's Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child. Marshall shows extra support for our military-connected heroes by starting with a school-wide parade where parents cheer them on. Throughout the month, we have a spirit week, a military bash, and various activities organized by teachers. Many may not realize the numerous changes our students adapt to, yet they consistently strive for success. When asked how the celebrations make her feel, one second-grade student said, "Happy because we are celebrated for working hard, even when our mom or dad isn't here, which is really hard, and my teacher understands.” Dr. Kennedy also stated that “Together, our military children shine brighter, showing us the power of unity and resilience.“
